Tell us about yourself - what inspired you to get into your trade (backstory)? And how long?
Both Jeremy and Jimmy were introduced to welding in high school. Although it didn't resonate with them right away, the admiration grew once they understood the necessity of it to work in their field. They knew the challenges of learning welding through videos or by watching someone else, and to get better, they'd have to work diligently. Since building cars is their life, it's an area they focused on.

What keeps you motivated throughout the day?
The more welding projects they took on, the more joy they found in it. They both feel that welding is an art that's all about perfecting the craft, and describe that a good weld doesn't necessarily have to look good, and a bad weld doesn't look bad. The more you perfect your style, the more you'll increase skill and functionality, which is important in their line of work. They both describe the next step as what keeps them motivated, looking ahead to the end, and finding beauty in the challenging moments.

What's your favorite piece that you've worked on?
To date, Jeremy's favorite build is a front bumper for an International Scout - it was three feet of perfection. Jimmy's was the cage for a build where Carcass put the shell of a VW Bug on top of a UTV frame. The fab stuff was intense - big rolling arcs and welding was a challenge, but the vision was made a reality with these two working together. They look forward to more projects like this in the future.

If you could have any job as it relates to question 1 what would it be and what would you do with that?
When Jeremy and Jimmy combined forces @carcassshow, the job called for extensive fabrication and welding work, sparking their drive to produce top-of-the-line builds. Showing up on set each day is exciting for them because they have the tools available to turn these ideas into their dream cars.
|
If there was one person you could collaborate with - who would it be and why?
They both mention the person they'd collaborate with is each other, making this a perfect fit on-air and off.

Do you have any advice for the next generation that you wish you had when you first started?
Just try. The key to it all is learning through failure, and you can't fail if you don't try.
