Jobber Bits

A Jobber Drill Bit is a bit that has a long length compared to its diameter. These bits provide more flexibility and absorb more shock and vibration than cobalt, powdered-metal, and carbide jobber-length. These jobber bits have a good balance of strength and precision when drilling into a range of materials. Each jobber bit is commonly used in softer materials such as wood, soft metals, or composite. They come in a wide range of sizes, finishes, and materials. Our jobber bits are designed, engineered, and superbly crafted to provide long-lasting durability.  Benchmark Abrasives carries two different Jobber Bit size options, fractional and wire gauge:

Forstner Bits

Forstner Bits are an important tool for many hardware installations where a specific depth of the hole is required. The Forstner bit is guided by the wide outside rim of the bit whereas the drill bits are guided by the tip. These bits are the perfect choice to produce flat bottomed holes. It can drill a flat-bottomed hole, making them a necessary tool for many hardware installations where a precise depth of mortise is required. They are optimized for woodworking applications and cut exceptionally precise, clean-edged holes in wood.

• Cutting Head Diameter Options: 1/4” through 2”, also available as a 7 piece or 16 piece set.
• Shaft Diameters: 3/8”

Silver & Demming Drill Bits

Silver and Deming drill bits are large size bits with reduced shanks that are ideal for situations where a bit diameter is greater than the capacity of a drill chuck. These Silver and Deming drill bits are also known as reduced-shank drill bit. The HSS drill bits provide good wear resistance and can be used in general purpose applications on both ferrous and nonferrous materials. Oxide coating of these bits prevents chip building, galling, and welding on the workpiece. Its black-gold surface treatment holds lubricant for smoother, longer drilling. It is ideal for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, manganese, and other tough materials.

• Outer Diameter Options: 17/32” through 1-1/2”
• Shaft Diameters: 1/2” with 3 Flats round shank

Step Drill Bits

Step Drill Bits are designed to drill and ream holes through thin materials, such as sheet metal, to a specific diameter. The step drill bit can create holes in a range of sizes without requiring the user to swap out bits in the tool. It enlarges a hole as the bit drills through the sheet metal. Titanium Step Drill Bits increase the cutting speed with self-centering and prevent walking. It allows you to drill multiple-sized holes with one bit. Each step on these bits is larger in diameter than the previous.

• Cutting Head Diameter Options: 1/8"-1/2", 3/16"-7/8", 1/4"-3/4", 9/16"-1" and 7/8"-1-3/8"
• Number of Steps: 5 steps, 8 steps, 9 steps, 12 steps and 13 steps

Insert Bits

Insert Bits aka “screwdriver tip bits” come in a variety of different shapes and sizes.  Some of the most popular styles are Slotted and Phillips bits.  You’ll find those in just about every tool bag or screw driver bit tip set out there, but there are many more options available like square, star and a variety of tamperproof options to keep would be thieves out of your gear!  Here is a short list of the bit tips we currently stock:

Magnetic Nut Setters

Magnetic Nut Setters are made from proprietary steel and heat-treated to control hardness. The nut setters each have a quick-release hex shank for setting a variety of screws swiftly. These nut setters are created for heavy-duty impact applications. They are used in most quick-release impact drivers like a power hand drill. This tool is designed to tighten or loosen the nuts and bolts in combination with power screwdrivers. Each magnetic nut setter has a strong magnetic tip for a secure grip and unyielding bit engagement.

Magnetic Bit Holders

Magnetic Bit Holders are engineered for extreme durability for long life as it made of fully hardened and tampered material to extend bit life. These bit holders ensure precision and accuracy thereby delivering high-quality, professional jobs. It is ideal for other applications such as deck building and framing and more. These magnetic bit holders are consist of a hexagonal steel bar, one end of which grips the chuck. A small magnet is attached to the bit holder which prevents the bit from dropping out.

Extension Socket Adapters

The Extension Socket Adapters are designed to provide a variety of nut, bolt, and screw sizes, as well as tool-access restrictions. Extension socket adapters are multifunctional pieces that allow for mix and match driver sizes for sockets, extension bars, corded, cordless drivers, and other accessories. The extension socket adapters feature a detent ball on each adapter for secure socket retention. These extension socket adapters used in the installation of a pneumatic screwdriver, electric screwdriver, pneumatic drill, manual screwdriver, and other installations.
