Tell us about yourself - what inspired you to get into your trade? And how long?
20 years ago I was working a 3rd shift job doing woodworking and didn't have anything to do on the weekends. I started collecting junk and making sculptures from it. At the time I was using wire to build the pieces. I wanted to learn to weld so I enrolled in a welding program. Upon completion I worked as a welder for 10+ years and continued to make sculptures on the side. 3 years ago I quit my job and have been a full-time metal artist ever since!

What keeps you motivated throughout the day?
I just love what I'm doing and how good I feel after I finish a sculpture.
What is your favorite shop tool and why?
My Favorite shop tool would have to be my channel lock pliers. I have multiple pairs and use them for just about everything.

What's your favorite piece that you've worked on?
My personal favorite piece was my Hey Diddle Diddle series.
If you could have any job as it relates to question 1 what would it be and what would you do with that?
I'm doing it. Making metal art full-time!

What BA product is your favorite and why?
40 grit abrasive disk
What BA product surprised you in terms of quality - what about it set it apart from the competition?
40 grit abrasive disk. I like how long it lasts and it can remove product quickly or smooth effectively!

What tips and tricks do you have for us that might be different or eye opening for others to try with BA product?
Hmm not good for toilet paper
If there was one person you could collaborate with - who would it be and why?
He's dead, but I would have loved to make a sculpture with Michael Malpass. Living I would say Jean Claude Vanderfield because he's really good at automation and it would be cool to learn something like that.

Do you have any advice for the next generation that you wish you had when you first started?
Work smarter not harder. Learn as much as you can!
What are your future plans for your shop?
I just plan to keep making art!
