Angle grinders come with a variety of flap disc attachments, each designed for a particular job. Angle grinders are larger than die grinders and are best used on large workpieces.

Die Grinder Vs. Angle Grinder: The Differences

After discussing both grinders, we can tell that they are nearly identical. However, there are a few distinctions between the two tools that one should be aware of.

1. The Size and Weight 

One of the differences is the size and weight of both these tools. The size and weight of an angle grinder are more than that of a die grinder. Die grinders are smaller and lighter. Die grinders are typically 5 to 10 inches in length and weigh between 10 and 11 pounds. An angle grinder, on the other hand, is much larger, with a length ranging from 12 to 18 inches and a weight ranging from 12 to 20 pounds, depending on the model.

Their size and weight can influence the working of tools. Because die grinders are small and compact, they are considerably easier to use.

2. Design

The second most significant difference is the design of both these tools. The head of a die grinder is typically parallel to the tool's body. This design allows you to reach tight locations that would otherwise be inaccessible. Because there is no side handle, you must operate by grabbing the body with both hands. There's also no safeguard.

On the other hand, the angle grinder head is angled to the right. It is safer to use and more convenient because of the side handle on top.  A safety guard protects the disc/wheel from sparks, dust, and other hazards.
