Built for demanding grinding jobs where users want both increased abrasive capacity and the ability to expose fresh flap material as the disc wears, this 4-1/2" T27 zirconia high density trimmable flap disc combines a thicker Jumbo construction with a purpose-designed trimmable backing. The self-sharpening zirconia grain continually exposes fresh cutting edges under the heat and pressure of metal grinding, while the extra flap volume provides more usable abrasive than a regular-density disc.
The flat T27 profile is especially well suited for shaped and non-flat workpieces such as fence posts, gates, risers, tubing, edges, and fabricated assemblies. As the abrasive flaps wear back, the trimmable backing can be reduced according to the product's trimming instructions to expose additional abrasive flap material and continue using the disc effectively.
The 5/8"-11 threaded hub spins directly onto compatible angle grinders for quick accessory changes without a separate retaining nut. Combined with High Density/Jumbo construction, durable zirconia grain, and computer-controlled flap placement, this disc is built for fabricators and maintenance users who want high abrasive capacity, convenient mounting, and extended access to the available flap material.

Machine Compatibility
Designed for compatible 4-1/2" to 5" angle grinders with a 5/8"-11 spindle.
For a Benchmark option, use the Benchmark Abrasives 4-1/2" corded angle grinder, which uses a 5/8"-11 spindle and is compatible with properly rated threaded accessories.
Because this is a thicker High Density/Jumbo disc, always confirm proper guard clearance before use. The grinder's operating speed must not exceed the flap disc's 13,300 RPM maximum.
Trimming the Backing
This flap disc is specifically designed with a trimmable backing. As the abrasive flaps wear back, the backing can be reduced to expose additional abrasive material.
Only trim the backing in the manner intended for this product. Do not trim standard non-trimmable flap discs, and never modify the disc while it is mounted on or connected to a grinder.
Safety Tips
- Inspect the flap disc before use and do not use a damaged disc.
- Never exceed the maximum rated speed of 13,300 RPM.
- Confirm the 5/8"-11 threaded hub is fully and securely mounted before operation.
- Verify proper guard clearance for the thicker High Density construction.
- Follow the product's intended trimming procedure when reducing the backing.
- Never trim or modify the disc while it is mounted on a grinder.
- Use the proper grinder guard and side handle.
