Nonwoven Flap Wheel Abrasive Sanding Drum Set
The 4-Piece Non-Woven Drum Sander Set from Benchmark Abrasives delivers a complete surface conditioning progression for cleaning, blending, finishing, and final prep; all in one convenient kit. Designed for surface finishing and linear grinding machines, this set allows operators to move seamlessly from initial cleanup to refined finishing without changing tooling.
Each set includes four non-woven abrasive sanding drums in 80, 120, 180, and 240 grit, covering the most commonly used stages of metal surface preparation.
Each 4-1/2" x 4" non-woven drum is manufactured using premium non-woven nylon webbing infused with aluminum oxide abrasive grain, securely bonded around a keyway shaft hub. This construction provides, controlled material removal, uniform scratch patterns, reduced risk of gouging or over-cutting and long abrasive life. Unlike coated abrasives, these non-woven drums refine surfaces rather than aggressively removing base material—making them ideal for precision finishing work.
This 4-piece set is designed to take you through the entire surface conditioning process:

Having all four grits on hand reduces downtime, improves finish consistency, and eliminates the need to source individual drums.
With a 4-inch wide working face, these drums provide significantly more surface coverage than non-woven quick-change discs or flap discs. The larger contact area means fewer passes, faster job completion, and more consistent finishes on large panels and assemblies. Ideal for plate, tubing, sheet metal, and fabricated parts.

Safety Tips & Techniques:
- Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work. Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life.
- Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection. Keep all guards in place on your machine.
- Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.
