Use a corded drill, cordless drill/driver or drill press with an adjustable chuck that securely grips the 3-flat shank. Check the chuck opening and the tool’s drilling capacity before use. This shank does not fit directly into a 1/4" quick-change impact driver.
Up to 1/4" in suitable metal, provided the selected step is long enough to pass through the workpiece without engaging the next diameter. Choose the drilling speed and lubricant for your material and hole size.
Choose drilling speed based on both the material and the diameter being cut. Because this bit reaches 1" diameter, controlled speed becomes increasingly important as you progress to the larger steps.
