4-1/2" X .040" X 7/8" T1 THIN CUT-OFF WHEEL FOR ALUMINUM - 25 PACK

Benchmark Abrasives 4-1/2" x .040" x 7/8" T1 thin cut-off wheels for aluminum are built for fast, controlled cutting of aluminum and other approved nonferrous metals. The ultra-thin .040" profile creates a narrow kerf with minimal material removal, helping deliver clean, efficient cuts across fabrication, automotive, maintenance, and repair work.

The wheel uses an aluminum oxide and silicon carbide abrasive blend specifically positioned for aluminum and approved nonferrous applications. Combined with the flat Type 1 construction, it is designed strictly for edge cutting and is well suited for sheet, tubing, extrusions, and fabricated aluminum components where cutting speed and control matter.

With a 7/8" arbor and a 13,500 RPM maximum rating, this wheel is made for compatible 4-1/2" angle grinders equipped with the proper Type 1 cut-off guard and mounting hardware. Pair it with the Benchmark Abrasives 4-1/2" angle grinder for a complete Benchmark cutting setup when all wheel, guard, flange, and operating requirements are met.

Bottom line, these cut off wheels offer LESS cutting resistance for fast work, LESS work piece waste, LESS vibration, LESS burrs and sparks and LESS dust than the competition

Use the proper Type 1 cut-off guard and approved mounting hardware for the machine. Always verify wheel diameter, arbor size, maximum RPM, flange setup, and guard configuration before operation.

Safety Tips

  • Use this wheel for cutting only. Do not grind with the side of the wheel.
  • Never exceed the wheel's 13,500 RPM maximum speed.
  • Always use the proper Type 1 cut-off wheel guard.
  • Use the correct flanges and mounting hardware specified for the grinder.
  • Inspect the wheel before use and do not operate cracked, chipped, damaged, or improperly stored wheels.
  • Keep the wheel straight in the cut and avoid side loading.
  • Do not force the wheel through the workpiece.
  • Wear appropriate eye and face protection, hearing protection, gloves, and other PPE required for the application.

Frequently Asked Questions

This wheel uses an aluminum oxide and silicon carbide abrasive blend and is specifically positioned for aluminum and other approved nonferrous metals.
