2" X 72" CERAMIC SANDING BELT COMBO KIT (60/120) - 40 BELTS
The Benchmark Abrasives 2" x 72"ceramic sanding belt combo kit is built for knife makers and metal fabricators who regularly use 60 and 120 grit during grinding and refinement. The kit includes 40 Made in USA ceramic belts—20 in 60 grit and 20 in 120 grit—giving you a practical bulk assortment for repeat bevel work, blending, scratch refinement, and surface preparation.
Ceramic abrasive grain is designed for demanding steel grinding, while this two-grit combination focuses on the middle and finer stages of the grinding process. Use 60 grit for coarse grinding and bevel shaping, then move to 120 grit for finer refinement and preparation for subsequent finishing steps. One tube of belt grease is also included.

60 Grit vs. 120 Grit
60 Grit — Coarse
Use for continued stock removal, bevel shaping, deburring, and refining the deeper scratch pattern left by very coarse belts.
120 Grit — Fine
Use for finer surface refinement, blending, scratch reduction, and preparing the blade or workpiece for later finishing stages.
This kit is intended for users who already rely on these two grits. It is not a complete coarse-to-fine grinding progression and does not include 36, 40, or 80 grit.
Machine Compatibility
Designed for machines using a nominal 2" x 72" sanding belt, including dedicated knife grinders and fabrication belt grinders.
Nominal-size matches include:
- Kalamazoo® 2FS72
- Kalamazoo® 2FS72M

Tips for Better Belt Performance
- Use a coarser belt first when substantial stock removal or initial blade profiling is required.
- Move to 60 grit for continued grinding and bevel shaping, then 120 grit for finer refinement.
- Preserve the intended blade and bevel geometry as you progress between grits.
- Allow the ceramic abrasive to do the cutting rather than relying on excessive pressure.
- Keep the belt properly tracked and inspect it before use.
- Use the included belt grease only where appropriate for the abrasive, machine, and application.
- If using the belts wet, confirm the grinder and application are approved for wet operation.
- Always follow the grinder manufacturer's guarding and PPE requirements.
