Coated Abrasives
As the name suggests, coated abrasives are sealed in adhesive-secured abrasive particles by a top coating of resin. The process of adhering the abrasive to a product's backing is what gives coated abrasives their "coated" appearance. In particular, the resin serves as a protective layer that gives the final product protection, stability, and sturdiness.
Coated abrasives work well with a variety of products. The coated abrasives are supplied by the producer in large rolls for each variant. After that, the roll is sent through cutting equipment that creates abrasive goods for:
- Sanding belts
- Spiral Bands
- Cartridge rolls
- Drums
- Abrasive sheets (sandpaper).
- Quick change discs
- Flap discs
- Sanding discs
- Sanding rolls
- PSA sanding discs
How Are Coated Abrasives Made?
Any flexible material capable of accepting adhesive can be used as a coated abrasive backing. Paper, film, vulcanized rubber, cotton, and polyester fabric are examples of this. Abrasive is applied to the backing, which serves as the basis.
On the backing, a base coat of adhesive—typically resin—is applied. An abrasive substance, or grain, is electrostatically added to the base coat after it has set but not cured. The abrasive is disseminated widely and evenly across the backing using the electrostatic approach, and the abrasive grain is oriented correctly.
The abrasives are attached to the backing when the glue has set, and then a resin layer is put on top of them. The abrasives are held in place, and the dried resin offers some wear and tear resistance.

Cartridge Rolls
Cartridge rolls are coated abrasives that are ideal for sanding and finishing hard-to-reach spaces. The cartridge roll is a valuable abrasive tool for reaching into corners or hard-to-reach areas, where larger diameter tools can't work. These rolls are made of several materials such as aluminum oxide, which can give a flexible method of hand sanding, especially in metalwork that is great for general-purpose finishing. The die grinder cartridge roll is ideal for finishing curved surfaces, holes, radii, inside rings, and more. They are available either as regular cylinders or as tapers. We have a wide variety and different sizes of cartridge rolls.
- Sizes: 1/4" x 1", 1/4" x 1-1/2", 3/8" x 1-1/2", 1/2" x 1-1/2" and 1/2" x 1"
- Grit: 60, 80 and 120
- Styles: Tapered and Straight
- Material: Aluminum Oxide (AO)
Tool Compatibility: Rotary Drills and Die grinders

Cross Pads
Cross pads are small abrasive sheets arranged in a cross design. They are made to be used on the drill or die grinder with mandrel attached. The cross pads provide excellent finishing and allow users to see through the contact area. These cross pads are ideal for fast grinding or polishing on channels, deburring the ends, corners, or spotting on flat surfaces. Generally, cross pads are used for close-tolerance polishing and deburring the ends and insides of tubing and for smoothing and finishing bell-mouth configurations. We have different sizes of aluminum oxide cross pads.
- Sizes: 1”, 1-1/2”, 2” and 3”
- Arbor Attachments: ¼”-20 THR, 3/48” and 8/32”
Tool Compatibility: Rotary Drills and Die Grinders

Deburring Wheels
Deburring Wheels are used to clean, blend, deburr, finish, and polish the metals, and glass. These deburring wheels are perfect for light to heavy precision blending, deburring, and cleaning. Deburring wheels offer a uniform finish to parts and deburr the workpiece quickly and easily than hand finishing. The deburring wheel is effective for all types of metals, composites, and glass, allowing one wheel to perform more tasks. It minimizes heat build-up to reduce the risk of discoloration and warping on heat-sensitive substrates and produces a professional finish without undercutting, gouging, or distorting the workpiece.
- Sizes: 6” x 1” x 1”
- Hardness: 7S fine, 8S fine and 9S Fine
- Grain Options: Silicon Carbide
Tool Compatibility: Bench Grinders and Pedestal Grinders
Flap Wheels
Flap wheels are designed to grind and finish hard-to-access areas such as the inside of pipes, inside radius or tubes. They are made of multiple abrasive sheets attached to a core for fabricating, deburring, cleaning, polishing, and finishing jobs in metalworking and woodworking applications. Flap wheels are one of the most useful tools to have in metal fabrication. Coated abrasives flap wheels are used for most applications from grinding to polishing. Flap wheels are commonly used on ferrous alloy, high tensile materials, and finish complex shapes and tight contours on a workpiece. They can attach to grinders, drills, impact wrenches, or handheld rotary tools.
