Product Specification

1/4" X 1-1/2" X 1/8" STRAIGHT CARTRIDGE ROLL ALUMINUM OXIDE - 10 PACK

The 1/4" x 1-1/2" straight aluminum oxide cartridge roll combines a narrow diameter with added length for deburring, blending, and surface preparation in deeper or confined areas. Its 1/4" diameter reaches into small openings and internal contours, while the 1-1/2" length provides more working surface and reach than shorter cartridge rolls.

Tightly wound aluminum oxide abrasive cloth delivers dependable general-purpose metalworking performance while exposing fresh abrasive as the outer layers wear. Choose from 60, 80, or 120 grit for applications ranging from aggressive deburring to finer blending and finish preparation.

Quantity: 10 Cartridge Rolls

Machine Compatibility

Designed for use with the Benchmark Abrasives BM-CM15 Cartridge Roll Mandrel installed in a compatible die grinder, rotary tool rotary drill.

The cartridge roll has a 1/8" center hole. Your tool must accept the mandrel's 1/8" shank. Secure both connections and stay within the lowest maximum speed rating of the tool, mandrel and roll.

Maximum cartridge roll speed: 23,000 RPM.

Safety Tips

  • Never exceed 23,000 RPM
  • Secure the workpiece before sanding
  • Disconnect the tool from its air or power source before changing accessories
  • Make sure the cartridge roll is properly installed on the mandrel before use

Frequently Asked Questions

The longer roll provides additional reach and abrasive working surface, making it useful when the sanding area sits deeper inside a hole, opening, or internal contour.
Both have the same 1/4" diameter and 1/8" center hole. This version is 1-1/2" long instead of 1", giving you additional reach and working surface in deeper areas.
Use the Benchmark Abrasives BM-CM15 Cartridge Roll Mandrel with this 1/4" x 1-1/2" cartridge roll.
Straight cartridge rolls maintain a cylindrical profile and are well suited to holes, internal contours, channels, and openings where a consistent working diameter is desirable. Tapered rolls are better suited to progressively narrowing areas and corners.
No. Each package contains 10 cartridge rolls. The BM-CM15 mandrel is sold separately.
Choose a die grinder, rotary tool or rotary drill approved for cartridge rolls that accepts the BM-CM15 mandrel's 1/8" shank. Follow the tool's speed instructions and never exceed 23,000 RPM or any lower accessory limit. A fixed-speed tool rated above that limit is not suitable.
Use 60 grit for more aggressive deburring and material removal, 80 grit for general-purpose sanding and blending, and 120 grit for finer blending and finish preparation. The grit graphic above provides a quick reference.
No. 23,000 RPM is the maximum speed rating, not a required operating speed. Actual operating speed should suit the material, application, mandrel, and tool being used.
