Product Specification

1/2" X 1-1/2" X 1/8" TAPERED CARTRIDGE ROLL ALUMINUM OXIDE - 10 PACK

The 1/2" x 1-1/2" tapered aluminum oxide cartridge roll is designed for deburring, blending, and surface preparation in recessed areas, corners, and openings that narrow as you work deeper into the part. Its 1/2" starting diameter provides more abrasive working surface than smaller tapered rolls, while the tapered profile helps reach into tighter areas.

Tightly wound aluminum oxide abrasive cloth exposes fresh abrasive as the outer layers wear, helping maintain consistent cutting action throughout the life of the roll. Available in 60, 80, and 120 grit, these Made in USA cartridge rolls cover applications from heavier deburring through finer blending and finish preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 1/2" starting diameter gives you more abrasive working area, while the tapered profile lets the roll reach into corners and progressively narrower openings that a straight 1/2" roll may not access as easily.
Both share the same nominal diameter, length, grit range, and 1/8" center hole. The straight roll maintains a consistent diameter, while the tapered roll narrows toward the end for better access into corners, recesses, and tightening spaces.
Use the Benchmark Abrasives BM-CM15 Cartridge Roll Mandrel with this 1/2" x 1-1/2" tapered cartridge roll.
No. Each package contains 10 cartridge rolls. The BM-CM15 mandrel is sold separately.
Choose a die grinder, rotary tool or rotary drill approved for cartridge rolls that accepts the BM-CM15 mandrel's 1/8" shank. Follow the tool's speed instructions and never exceed 23,000 RPM or any lower accessory limit. A fixed-speed tool rated above that limit is not suitable.
Use 60 grit for more aggressive deburring and material removal, 80 grit for general-purpose sanding and blending, and 120 grit for finer blending and finish preparation. The grit graphic above provides a quick reference.
No. 23,000 RPM is the maximum speed rating, not a required operating speed. Actual operating speed should suit the material, application, mandrel, and tool being used.
Yes. These cartridge rolls are 100% Made in USA.
