Benchmark Abrasives 1/2" x 1" surface conditioning spiral bands are designed for blending, light deburring, cleaning, and surface refinement on metal. The 1/2" diameter helps reach into openings and confined areas, while the 1" axial width provides more working surface than the shorter 1/2" x 1/2" size.
The flexible nonwoven abrasive construction conforms to curved and contoured workpieces while providing controlled surface conditioning without the aggressive stock-removal action of a conventional coated abrasive band. Available in Coarse, Medium, and Fine grades, these bands cover heavier cleanup through finer blending and finishing preparation.

The maximum speed is 20,000 RPM when this 1/2" x 1" Surface Conditioning Spiral Band is mounted on the matching expanding drum. Always follow the lowest RPM rating shown on the band, drum, and power tool.
Coarse is associated with approximately 60–80 grit and is best for heavier cleanup, aggressive blending, rough deburring, and surface preparation.
Medium is approximately 100–150 grit for general blending, weld-area cleanup, light deburring, and surface preparation.
Fine is approximately 320–400 grit for final blending, scratch refinement, finishing preparation, and smoother surfaces.
Aluminum oxide, zirconia, and ceramic spiral bands are coated abrasives intended primarily for sanding and material removal. Surface conditioning spiral bands use a flexible nonwoven construction and are better suited to blending, cleaning, light deburring, and refining the surface.
