The 5-Piece Interleaf & Non-Woven Drum Sander Set from Benchmark Abrasives is engineered to deliver a complete, professional finishing workflow—from controlled material removal and blending to fine surface conditioning and final prep.
This set combines interleaf sanding drums (for simultaneous sanding and conditioning) with non-woven surface conditioning drums (for refinement and finish control), allowing operators to progress smoothly through multiple finishing stages without changing machines or tooling.
This kit includes the most effective grit progression for blending, refining, and finishing metal surfaces:

- 320 Grit – Interleaf (Sandpaper + Non-Woven)

The interleaf drums combine coated aluminum oxide sanding flaps with impregnated non-woven conditioning material in an alternating fan-style layout. This hybrid design allows you to Remove moderate rust, paint, oxidation, and coatings, Blend welds and parting lines, Smooth scratch patterns, Prep surfaces for finer finishing stages. The aluminum oxide flaps provide bite, while the non-woven sections refine the surface simultaneously—preventing over-cutting and protecting base material.
The non-woven drums are manufactured from premium nylon webbing infused with aluminum oxide grain, designed to clean, blend, and finish without aggressive stock removal. Their open, porous structure promotes airflow, resists loading and clogging, reduces heat buildup, prevents discoloration or distortion and extends abrasive life. These drums are ideal when finish quality and surface consistency matter more than removal rate.

Safety Tips & Techniques:
- Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work. Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life.
- Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection. Keep all guards in place on your machine.
- Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.
