1/8" SHAFT - 11 PIECE ALUMINUM CUT BURR MASTER SET
The Benchmark Abrasives 1/8" shaft 11 piece aluminum cut burr master set gives fabricators, machinists, metalworkers, and detail-oriented users a complete selection of professional-grade carbide burr shapes for working aluminum and other soft nonferrous materials. Each burr is built with a solid carbide head and a silver-brazed connection to the shank, avoiding the hollow-head construction or inconsistent brazing sometimes found on lower-quality burrs. The result is a versatile set of durable cutting tools designed for demanding deburring, shaping, contouring, and detail work.
All 11 burrs feature aluma cut tooth geometry, using wider, more open tooth spacing to provide improved chip clearance on aluminum and other soft nonferrous materials. Rather than relying on one general-purpose profile, the set combines cylinder, end-cut cylinder, radius-end cylinder, ball, oval, tree, pointed-tree, flame, taper-radius, pointed-cone, and inverted-cone shapes so the operator can select the geometry that best matches the feature being worked.
Every burr in the set uses a 1/8" shank and 1/4" head diameter, making the collection well suited for compatible rotary tools and precision grinders equipped with the proper 1/8" collet or chuck. A storage case keeps the full 11-piece assortment organized and ready for fabrication, repair, maintenance, and precision nonferrous work.

Applications
The 11-piece assortment provides shape options for:
- Deburring aluminum components
- Sidewall and straight-edge shaping
- Shoulder and flat-bottom work
- Rounded internal transitions
- Concave and radiused cavities
- Sweeping curves and oval contours
- Edge rounding
- Narrow and angled features
- Channel shaping
- Tapered contours
- Pointed recesses
- Undercuts and reverse-angle features
- General fabrication, repair, and maintenance work
Materials
The Aluma Cut tooth geometry is intended primarily for:
- Aluminum
- Other soft nonferrous materials
The wider, more open tooth spacing provides additional chip clearance compared with a conventional double-cut pattern, helping reduce chip packing when working softer nonferrous materials.
Machine Compatibility
Designed for rotary tools, precision grinders, and other compatible machines equipped with a properly sized 1/8" collet or chuck.
Compatible examples include Dremel® 4300, 4000, and 3000 fitted with a Dremel 480 1/8" collet and matching collet nut. The 4300 can also hold the 1/8" shank in its keyless chuck.
Always confirm each burr is securely seated in the correct collet or chuck before operation. A 1/8" shank is not interchangeable with a 3 mm collet.
Cutting Performance
The strength of this set is its range of cutting geometries. Straight-sided cylinder shapes provide controlled wall and edge work, while ball and oval shapes follow rounded or concave surfaces. Tree, flame, taper, and cone profiles provide progressively narrower access for contours, channels, recesses, and detailed features, while the inverted cone reaches undercuts and reverse-angle geometry.
Because every burr uses Aluma Cut tooth spacing, the set is optimized around chip clearance on aluminum and other soft nonferrous materials rather than the crossed-flute action of a double-cut burr. Selecting the correct shape for the feature allows the operator to remove material more efficiently and maintain better control throughout the cut.
Carbide burrs are primarily cutting and shaping tools; applications requiring a refined cosmetic finish should be followed with the appropriate abrasive finishing process.

All 11 burrs in this set use a 1/4" head diameter, so the same 1/4" operating-speed chart applies across the assortment.
Do not exceed 70,000 RPM for these standard-length 1/4" carbide burrs. Always operate within the lower maximum speed of the burr, machine, collet, chuck, or accessory system.
Safety Tips
-
- Secure the workpiece before beginning operation.
- Confirm the 1/8" shank is properly seated and securely tightened in the proper collet or chuck.
- Select the burr shape that provides appropriate access and clearance for the feature being worked.
- Use light, controlled pressure and allow the carbide cutting edges to remove the material.
- Keep the burr moving during cutting rather than holding it stationary against the workpiece.
- Use additional care with pointed, inverted-cone, and end-cut profiles in confined features.
- Avoid excessive force, which can increase heat, vibration, and premature cutting-edge wear.
- Select operating speed according to the 1/4" head diameter, workpiece material, machine requirements, and the recommended operating-speed chart.
- Never exceed 70,000 RPM.
- Stop immediately if excessive vibration, chatter, unusual noise, or visible damage occurs.
- Do not use a damaged, chipped, bent, or improperly mounted carbide burr.
