12" 96-TOOTH TCT SAW BLADE FOR FINE FINISHING

The Benchmark Abrasives 12" 96 tooth TCT saw blade is designed for ultra-smooth cutting of hardwoods, softwoods, plywood and other wood materials where finish quality is the priority. Its high 96-tooth configuration produces exceptionally clean edges with reduced tear-out, making it the fine-finishing choice in our 12" wood blade lineup.

Tungsten carbide-tipped teeth and ATB (Alternate Top Bevel) geometry help slice cleanly across wood fibers. The 0.134" kerf provides a stable cutting path, and the standard 1" arbor fits compatible 12" miter, table and radial-arm saws.

Product Features

  • 96-tooth configuration prioritizes the smoothest edge quality and reduced tear-out.
  • ATB tooth geometry helps slice cleanly across wood fibers for fine-finish cutting.
  • Tungsten carbide-tipped teeth provide a durable cutting edge for repeated use.
  • 0.134" kerf provides a stable cutting path through hardwoods, softwoods and plywood.
  • 1" arbor fits compatible 12" miter, table and radial-arm saws.
  • 5,700 RPM maximum speed clearly identifies the operating limit for proper machine selection.

Materials & Applications

Best For

  • Softwood
  • Hardwood
  • Plywood
  • Finish plywood
  • Trim work
  • Molding
  • Finish carpentry
  • Fine crosscuts
  • High-visibility finished wood surfaces

The 96-tooth configuration is especially well suited for applications where the cleanest possible finished edge and minimal secondary sanding or cleanup are more important than maximum cutting speed.

Machine Compatibility

Designed for compatible 12" miter, table and radial-arm saws using a 1" arbor and operating within the blade's maximum speed rating.

Common compatible saws include:

  • DeWalt® DWS780
  • Bosch® GCM12SD
  • Makita® LS1219L

It may also be used on compatible 12" table and radial-arm saws for fine crosscutting.

Always confirm compatibility with your exact saw before installation. Blade diameter, arbor fit, guard and flange clearance, blade rotation, kerf and any applicable riving-knife requirements must match, and the saw must operate at no more than 5,700 RPM.

Choosing the Right Tooth Count

With 96 teeth on a 12" blade, this is the fine-finishing option in the 12" family, providing smoother edges and less tear-out than the 72T and 80T versions.

Tips for Better Blade Performance

  • Secure the workpiece firmly before cutting.
  • Allow the saw to reach full operating speed before entering the material.
  • Use a steady, controlled feed rate and let the carbide teeth do the cutting.
  • Avoid forcing the blade through the material.
  • Keep sawdust and chips clear of the cutting path.
  • Inspect the blade before use for damaged, missing or excessively worn teeth.
  • Remove pitch and resin buildup periodically to maintain clean cutting performance.
  • Replace or professionally sharpen the blade when cutting performance noticeably declines.
  • Never exceed the blade's 5,700 RPM maximum operating speed.

Safety

  • Use this blade for wood-cutting applications only.
  • Do not use this blade to cut metal.
  • Use only on saws designed to accept this blade diameter, arbor and kerf.
  • Confirm table-saw riving-knife compatibility before use.
  • Never install the blade on a machine that exceeds the blade's maximum RPM.
  • Keep all factory guards and safety devices properly installed.
  • Inspect the blade before every use. Do not use a cracked, warped or damaged blade.
  • Secure the workpiece and maintain control throughout the cut.
  • Wear appropriate eye, hearing, and respiratory protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

This blade is designed for wood applications, including hardwoods, softwoods and plywood. It is particularly well suited for fine finishing and crosscutting where smooth edge quality is the priority.
Choose the 72T for controlled crosscutting on sliding miter and radial-arm saws. Choose the 80T for versatile finishing and smooth crosscuts. Choose the 96T when the cleanest finished edge and minimum tear-out are the highest priorities.
A higher tooth count keeps more teeth engaged with the material during cutting, so each tooth removes less wood. This generally produces a finer finished edge and less tear-out than lower-tooth-count blades.
ATB stands for Alternate Top Bevel. The teeth alternate their bevel direction from one tooth to the next, helping slice cleanly across wood fibers and reduce tear-out.
This blade is designed primarily for fine crosscutting and finishing. A lower-tooth-count blade is generally more efficient when fast ripping along the grain is the priority.
Yes. The 96-tooth configuration and ATB geometry make this blade especially well suited for plywood and other finish-sensitive wood products where minimizing tear-out is important.
Yes, when the smoothest possible finished edge is the priority. The 80T provides a strong balance of finish quality and cutting efficiency, while the 96T pushes further toward fine finishing and minimum tear-out.
No. This blade is engineered for wood applications only. Use a Benchmark Abrasives TCT blade specifically designed for steel or aluminum when cutting metal.
Common compatible saws include the DeWalt DWS780, Bosch GCM12SD and Makita LS1219L 12-inch miter saws. It may also be used on compatible 12-inch table and radial-arm saws for fine crosscutting. Confirm compatibility with the exact saw model before installation, including blade diameter, arbor or bushing, guard and flange clearance, blade rotation, kerf and riving-knife requirements where applicable, and a saw speed no greater than 5,700 RPM.
The blade has a maximum operating speed of 5,700 RPM. Never use it on a saw whose operating speed exceeds the maximum RPM marked on the blade.
