7" X 1/4" X 7/8" T27 DEPRESSED CENTER GRINDING WHEEL - 25 PACK
Benchmark Abrasives 7" x 1/4" x 7/8" T27 depressed center grinding wheels are built for aggressive stock removal, weld grinding, beveling, edge cleanup, and heavy fabrication work where a larger grinding surface and additional reach are valuable. The full 1/4" wheel thickness provides the wheel body needed for sustained grinding, while the 7" diameter gives operators more coverage on larger weldments, structural sections, and fabricated assemblies.
Made with aluminum oxide abrasive grain, these Type 27 wheels are designed for grinding steel, stainless steel, and other approved metals. The depressed-center profile provides practical working clearance for weld removal, surface cleanup, edge preparation, and material reduction across fabrication, maintenance, repair, and industrial applications.
With a 7/8" arbor and a maximum rating of 8,600 RPM, this wheel is designed for compatible 7" angle grinders equipped with the proper Type 27 grinding guard, flanges, and mounting hardware. The grinder must be specifically approved for a 7" bonded abrasive grinding wheel and operate within the wheel's rated speed.
Bottom line, these cut off wheels offer LESS cutting resistance for fast work, LESS work piece waste, LESS vibration, LESS burrs and sparks and LESS dust than the competition.

Machine Compatibility
Designed for compatible 7" angle grinders that accept a 7/8" arbor Type 27 grinding wheel and operate within the wheel's 8,600 RPM maximum.
Compatible examples include:
- Makita® GA7031Y (8,500 RPM)
- Makita® GA7060 (8,500 RPM)
- Makita® GA7021 (6,600 RPM)
- Milwaukee® 2785-20 (6,600 RPM)
Use the proper 7" Type 27 grinding guard and the manufacturer's flanges for a 1/4" thick, 7/8" arbor grinding wheel. The grinder's maximum rated speed must not exceed 8,600 RPM. Other models may also be compatible when they meet the same wheel and setup requirements.
Do not install this wheel on a smaller grinder simply because the arbor fits.
Grinding Performance
The 7" diameter provides additional grinding surface and reach compared with smaller wheels, while the 1/4" profile gives the wheel the body needed for sustained material removal and weld grinding.
This is a dedicated grinding wheel designed for applications such as weld removal, beveling, edge preparation, and material reduction. Use the wheel at the grinding angle specified for the wheel and grinder setup, and allow the abrasive to perform the work without excessive pressure.
Safety Tips
- Use this wheel for grinding applications.
- Never exceed the wheel's 8,600 RPM maximum speed.
- Use only on machines specifically approved for 7" Type 27 grinding wheels.
- Always use the proper Type 27 grinding guard specified for the grinder and wheel configuration.
- Use the correct flanges and mounting hardware specified by the grinder manufacturer.
- Use the grinder's side handle for control during grinding.
- Inspect the wheel before use and do not operate cracked, chipped, damaged, or improperly stored wheels.
- Avoid excessive pressure and allow the abrasive to perform the work.
-
Wear appropriate eye and face protection, hearing protection, gloves, and other PPE required for the application.
