6" DA ORBITAL SANDER BACKING PAD FOR PSA SANDING DISCS

Benchmark Abrasives 6" PSA backing pad is designed for 6" random orbital and DA sanders using peel-and-stick PSA sanding discs. The durable urethane foam construction provides the flexibility needed to follow the work surface while maintaining even support for sanding, blending, paint preparation, and finishing.

A reinforced steel center hub adds strength and stability at the mounting point, while the smooth PSA face allows Gold and Purple adhesive-backed sanding discs to be applied quickly and securely. With a standard 5/16"-24 mounting thread, this pad fits a wide range of 6" orbital and DA sanders used for non-vacuum sanding.

PSA vs. Hook & Loop Backing Pads

Both systems are used on the same general types of 6" random orbital and DA sanders. The difference is how the sanding disc attaches.

PSA backing pads have a smooth surface for pressure-sensitive adhesive discs. Hook & Loop backing pads use a hook-faced surface for Hook & Loop discs.

Choose the backing pad that matches the attachment style of your sanding discs.

Tips for Better Sanding Performance

• Apply PSA discs to a clean, dry backing-pad surface.
• Center the sanding disc before pressing it firmly into place.
• Press across the full disc surface to ensure secure adhesive contact.
• Keep the sander moving to maintain an even scratch pattern.
• Allow the abrasive to do the cutting rather than applying excessive pressure.
• Replace the backing pad when the mounting surface becomes damaged, uneven, or no longer holds PSA discs securely.
• Do not exceed the 10,000 RPM maximum speed.
• Use appropriate eye, hearing, respiratory, and hand protection during sanding.
