2" UNITIZED QUICK CHANGE DISCS 2S FINE - 5 PACK
Refine smaller stainless-steel surfaces with Benchmark Abrasives 2" unitized quick change discs. Fine silicon carbide in a compressed, bonded non-woven nylon structure delivers a uniform finish after heavier grinding or material removal.
The compact 2" size makes these discs well suited for smaller surfaces, localized finishing, edges, contours, and areas where larger abrasives are harder to control. Their Type R quick-change attachment allows fast disc changes with the proper 2" holder, while the open non-woven construction helps release debris and reduce loading during finishing.
Quantity: 5 pieces
Holder Required: 2" Type R Quick Change Holder - Sold Separately

Features & Benefits
- 2S Fine silicon carbide for controlled fine finishing and surface refinement
- Produces a fine, uniform finish, particularly on stainless steel
- Compressed unitized construction provides support while remaining conformable during finishing
- Open non-woven structure helps reduce loading and release debris
- Compact 2" diameter provides control on smaller surfaces and detailed areas
- Type R quick-change attachment allows fast abrasive changes with the proper holder
- Useful for preparing properly refined surfaces for a subsequent polishing step
Applications
Ideal for fine finishing and surface preparation on:
- Stainless steel
- Steel
- Cast iron
- Titanium
- Nickel
- Wrought iron
- Copper
- Aluminum
- Fiberglass
- Plastic
- Hard rubber
- Wood
- Stone
These 2S Fine discs are intended for surface refinement and finishing, not aggressive stock removal, heavy weld grinding, or cutting.
Finishing Performance
The 2S Fine construction is designed for light-pressure finishing where surface control and uniformity are more important than aggressive material removal. It is particularly useful for refining stainless steel after scratches, welds, or other major surface defects have already been addressed with a more aggressive abrasive.
Depending on the workpiece and desired finish, the resulting surface can serve as preparation for additional polishing. Complete substantial grinding or stock removal before moving to this fine unitized finishing step.
Machine Compatibility
Build your quick-change setup with a tool-compatible 2" Type R backing pad. For a tool with a 1/4" collet, use the Benchmark 2" Type R Quick Change Holder (BM-QC2HLDR_1).
Recommended Benchmark machine options include:
- Benchmark Abrasives Right Angle Pneumatic Quick Change Sander (BMT-QC90_1)
- Benchmark Abrasives Pneumatic Quick Change Sander - Pistol Grip (BMT-QCPG)
Both Benchmark sanders are listed for 2" and 3" quick-change discs. Replace the supplied 3" pad with a tool-compatible 2" Type R pad for these discs.
Always use the correctly sized Type R holder and verify that the complete disc, holder, and tool assembly remains within the lowest maximum RPM rating of any component. The maximum speed for this disc and the Benchmark 2" holder is 25,000 RPM.
Safety Tips
-
Always wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, respiratory protection when required, and suitable hand protection.
- Inspect the disc and holder before use and replace damaged or excessively worn components.
- Use only the proper 2" Type R quick-change holder.
- Secure the backing pad using the tool manufacturer's mounting instructions. On collet-equipped tools, secure the separate holder's 1/4" shank in a matching collet.
- Never exceed the disc's maximum rated speed of 25,000 RPM.
- Confirm that every component in the disc, holder, and tool assembly is rated for the intended operating speed.
- Allow the tool to reach operating speed before contacting the workpiece.
- Use controlled pressure; excessive force is unnecessary for fine unitized finishing.
- Follow all machine and accessory operating and safety instructions.
