Product Specification

12" 120-TOOTH TCT SAW BLADE FOR ALUMINUM & NON-FERROUS METALS

The Benchmark Abrasives 12" 120-Tooth TCT saw blade is designed for smooth, precise cutting of aluminum and other non-ferrous metals on compatible low-RPM dry-cut saws. Its high 120-tooth count makes it the finish-focused option in our 12" aluminum blade lineup, ideal when a cleaner edge and reduced secondary finishing are more important than maximum cutting speed.

Durable tungsten carbide-tipped teeth and TCG (Triple Chip Grind) geometry help produce controlled, consistent cuts through aluminum extrusion, sheet, bar stock and similar non-ferrous materials. The 0.118" kerf and 1" arbor are designed for compatible 12" saws operating at or below the blade's 2,000 RPM maximum speed.

Product Features

  • 120-tooth configuration prioritizes a smoother finished edge for finish-sensitive aluminum cutting.
  • TCG tooth geometry is designed for controlled cutting of aluminum and other non-ferrous metals.
  • Tungsten carbide-tipped teeth provide a durable cutting edge for repeated use.
  • 0.118" kerf provides a stable cutting path through aluminum extrusion, sheet, and stock.
  • 1" arbor fits compatible 12" low-RPM dry-cut saws.
  • 2,000 RPM maximum speed identifies the operating limit for proper machine selection.

Materials & Applications

Best For

  • Aluminum
  • Aluminum extrusion
  • Aluminum sheet
  • Aluminum bar
  • Aluminum profiles
  • Aluminum die castings
  • Brass
  • Copper
  • Bronze
  • Other similar non-ferrous metals

The 120-tooth configuration is especially well suited for fabrication, installation and finish-sensitive shop work where smooth edge quality and reduced post-cut cleanup are priorities.

Machine Compatibility

Designed for compatible 12" low-RPM dry-cut saws that accept a 1" arbor and operate within the blade's maximum speed rating.

Always verify your saw's blade diameter, arbor size and operating RPM before installation. The saw must be designed to accept a 12" blade with a 1" arbor and must not exceed the blade's 2,000 RPM maximum rating.

Choosing the Right Tooth Count

Within Benchmark's 12" aluminum blade lineup, the 120-tooth blade is the finish-focused option, providing the smoothest edge of the 80T, 100T and 120T choices.

Tips for Better Blade Performance

  • Secure the workpiece firmly before cutting.
  • Use a steady, controlled feed rate and allow the blade to do the cutting.
  • Keep aluminum chips clear of the cutting area.
  • Inspect the blade before use for damaged, missing, or excessively worn teeth.
  • Replace or professionally sharpen the blade when cutting performance noticeably declines.
  • Saw blade lubricant or cutting wax can help reduce aluminum buildup on the teeth during demanding applications.
  • Never exceed the blade's 2,000 RPM maximum operating speed.

Safety

  • Use only on saws designed to accept this blade diameter and arbor configuration.
  • Never install the blade on a machine that exceeds the blade's maximum RPM.
  • Keep all factory guards installed and properly functioning.
  • Inspect the blade before every use. Do not use a cracked, warped, or damaged blade.
  • Secure the workpiece before cutting and maintain control throughout the cut.
  • Wear appropriate eye, hearing, and respiratory protection for the material and application.
  • This blade is designed for aluminum and non-ferrous metal cutting. Use a Benchmark TCT blade specifically designed for steel/ferrous metals when cutting steel.

Frequently Asked Questions

This blade is designed for aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, including brass, copper, and bronze. It is well suited for aluminum extrusion, sheet, bar stock, profiles, and die castings.
Choose the 80-tooth blade when faster cutting and productivity are the priority. Choose the 100-tooth blade for a balance of cutting efficiency and smoother edge quality. Choose the 120-tooth blade when the smoothest finished edge is the highest priority.
The 120T provides more teeth in the cut, which generally favors a smoother finished edge and reduced cleanup. The 100T is the more balanced option when both cutting efficiency and finish quality are important.
Yes. Higher tooth counts are generally better suited to thinner material and finish-sensitive cuts because more teeth remain engaged with the workpiece. The 120T is the best choice in the 12" lineup when edge quality takes priority over feed speed.
Generally, yes. Higher tooth counts favor finish quality over maximum cutting speed. The 120T is intended for applications where a smoother edge is more important than the fastest possible cut.
TCG stands for Triple Chip Grind. This tooth geometry alternates cutting profiles to distribute the cutting action across the teeth, helping provide controlled cutting, good edge quality, and tooth durability in aluminum and other non-ferrous metals.
This blade is designed for compatible low-RPM dry-cut saws and has a maximum operating speed of 2,000 RPM. Never install it on a saw that operates above the maximum RPM marked on the blade.
Only if the saw operates at 2,000 RPM or lower and is designed to accept a 12" blade with a 1" arbor. Many conventional 12" miter saws operate above this speed, so machine RPM must be verified before installation.
No. This blade is designed for aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. Use a Benchmark Abrasives TCT blade specifically designed for steel/ferrous metal when cutting steel.
Lubricant is not required for every application, but saw blade lubricant or cutting wax can help reduce aluminum buildup on the teeth and maintain smooth cutting performance during demanding applications.
