COMPLETE 56-PIECE BI-METAL HOLE SAW & MANDREL SET – A SIZE FOR EVERY HOLE YOU'LL EVER NEED
If there's a hole that needs cutting, chances are this set has the size for it. The Benchmark Abrasives Complete Bi-Metal Hole Saw & Mandrel Set brings together every Benchmark bi-metal hole saw size from 9/16" through 6" — 51 individual diameters — along with all five Benchmark hole saw mandrels. From small pass-through holes and precise fabrication work to large openings for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, maintenance, and construction, this is the complete hole saw lineup in one set.
Every hole saw features shock-resistant and shatter-resistant bi-metal construction with cobalt-matrix high-speed steel cutting teeth laser-welded to a tough alloy-steel body. The 4/6 variable-pitch teeth and positive rake angle promote fast, clean cutting with reduced chatter, while the 1-1/2" cutting depth handles common construction materials and side cutouts make plug removal easier after the cut.
With five mandrels covering 1/4", 3/8", and 7/16" hex shanks and both 1/2"-20 and 5/8"-18 hole saw threads, this set gives a shop, maintenance department, contractor, or serious fabricator an unmatched range of hole-cutting options without having to hunt down individual sizes later.

Applications & Performance
This complete size assortment is designed for professional and general-purpose hole cutting in materials such as:
- Wood and wood framing
- 2" x 4" lumber
- Plywood
- Sheet metal
- Ferrous metals
- Aluminum and other non-ferrous metals
- Wood composites
- Plastics
- Rubber
- Drywall and sheetrock
The 9/16" through 6" size range provides broad coverage for:
- Electrical conduit and cable pass-throughs
- Junction and device box openings
- Plumbing pipe and tubing penetrations
- HVAC installation
- Fabrication and metalworking
- Automotive and mechanical repair
- Industrial maintenance
- Equipment installation
- Facility maintenance
- Wood framing and construction
- Shop and general repair work
Cobalt-matrix high-speed steel cutting teeth provide wear resistance at the cutting edge, while the alloy-steel bodies add toughness and flexibility. The 4/6 variable-pitch pattern balances cutting speed with smoother engagement across different materials and thicknesses.
Machine Compatibility
Designed for use with compatible rotary drills and the correctly matched Benchmark hole saw mandrel.
The five included mandrels provide 1/4", 3/8", and 7/16" hex shank options for compatible three-jaw drill chucks and cover both major Benchmark hole saw thread families.
Compatible examples include:
- DEWALT® DCD991 and DCD996
- Milwaukee® 2903-20, 2904-20, 2807-20, 2410-20, and 2411-20
- Makita® XPH14Z, XAD03Z, and XAD05Z
Use the correct arbor for the saw, match its shank to the drill chuck, and choose a drill suited to the hole diameter and material. Operate in rotary mode with hammer action off.
The range of saw sizes lets you choose the diameter and mandrel for the job. Match each setup to your drill's capacity.
Large-diameter hole saws require appropriately rated drills and greater control because torque increases substantially as diameter increases.
The 7/16" hex mandrels should not be assumed to directly fit locking 7/16" quick-release systems solely because the shank width matches. The retention geometry required for those interfaces has not been established.
Safety Tips
- Wear eye protection and appropriate hearing and respiratory protection. Keep hands, gloves, and loose clothing clear of rotating parts.
- Secure the workpiece before drilling.
- Match the hole saw to the correct mandrel thread and published diameter range before use.
- Confirm that the mandrel, pilot drill, and hole saw are fully assembled and tightened before operation.
- Make sure the drill chuck securely grips the mandrel shank.
- Use rotary drilling mode only; do not use hammer action with a hole saw.
- Confirm the drill manufacturer's hole-saw capacity for the selected diameter and material.
- Use an appropriately powered drill for larger-diameter hole saws.
- Use appropriate drilling speed and pressure for the material and hole diameter.
- Reduce pressure as the hole saw approaches breakthrough to help prevent grabbing.
- Allow the tool and workpiece to cool when cutting metal; use cutting fluid when appropriate.
- Stop the drill completely before clearing chips, removing cut plugs, changing sizes, or adjusting components.
- Do not use a damaged, cracked, excessively worn, bent, or distorted hole saw, pilot drill, or mandrel.
