Tell us about yourself - what inspired you to get into your trade? And how long?
I grew up welding and working for an artist. It allowed me to see the endless possibilities you can achieve with the right tools and knowhow. 15yrs later I'm still in the shop every chance I get and love creating something from nothing.

What keeps you motivated throughout the day?
The excitement of turning something that most people would have dismissed as trash or scrap into something awesome!
What is your favorite shop tool and why?
My welder (old Millermatic 250) will always be one of my favorite tools but there's a long list of favorites depending on the project.

What's your favorite piece that you've worked on?
I built this 15' tall bike sculpture that was in downtown Denver. It was fun because of all the engagement it got. It gave me a huge sense of pride seeing people young and old stopping to take photos with it.
If you could have any job as it relates to question 1 what would it be and what would you do with that?
'Successful' Professional artist. One day I hope to have the means to take on even bigger projects and different mediums.

What BA product is your favorite and why?
Hands down the aluminum flap discs. There's nothing like them on the market.
What BA product surprised you in terms of quality - what about it set it apart from the competition?
I use A LOT of abrasives and am always impressed by the quality and durability of BA's products but the aluminum flap discs and resin fiber discs are my absolute favorite.

What tips and tricks do you have for us that might be different or eye opening for others to try with BA product?
The right tool for the job makes all the difference. Same for consumables, invest in quality products that will make your life easier and the end result that much better.
(Pictured is an example of a polished aluminum & brass nameplate I make and sell on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/WhiteRhinoCustoms)
If there was one person you could collaborate with - who would it be and why?
Eduardo Chillida (even though he is dead) was an incredible artist and made some amazing pieces from forged iron.

Do you have any advice for the next generation that you wish you had when you first started?
Do what you love even if other people don't understand it. Also, wear your damn safety glasses!
What are your future plans for your shop?
Grow my shop to be able to take on larger projects and continue doing what I love.
